California Wine Country

 California Wine Country

If you’re planning a trip to California wine country, there are many resources available that can make your trip fun and enjoyable. Many self-planning guides are available for visitors to complement the wine tasting experience and make for a pleasurable adventure. Family wineries in Sonoma Valley, Napa Valley, Santa Barbara, and Medocino area vineyards, just to name a few, offer a variety of options, such as walking vineyard tours, wine tasting seminars, and retail stores that offer endless selections of wine and wine related products!

A tour of California wine country can be enjoyed by many means, since drinking and driving is not encouraged, visitors can make their way by limo, bus, jeep, carriage, train, plane, and even by hot air balloon! Many tour packages are available and can accommodate any travelers’ desires and pocketbooks.  Tours of select counties, such as, the wildly popular Sonoma and Napa valley tours, can be combined with lunch or dinner, a mystery theater, mountain biking, or overnight resort and spa accommodations. Vacations can be booked online and be made as unique or as carefree as you’d like. Some tour operators even offer surprise packages that combine a little bit of everything for those visitors that desire an element of the unknown! Many packages can also be revised on a whim so you don’t miss a thing, and of course, you can always visit again!

To find the tours that interest you most, you may begin by searching by destination, most popular tours, or by what activities various vineyards offer. There are many excellent on-line guides available, with stunning photographs of California vineyards, travel recommendations, and historic information. California wine country is vast and statewide, with different offerings throughout the year. The weather can also be a factor, and you may want to check ahead of time with tour operators or the specific vineyards you would like to visit, as to what they recommend to ensure that your trip is memorable for all the right reasons!

The possibilities are endless and can be as unique as you want. If a romantic getaway is what you’re looking for, then possibly a quaint bed and breakfast surrounded by panoramic vineyard views would be just the ticket! It is also possible to fit in other attractions as well, depending on the area you plan on visiting. Many of the most popular tours fill up quickly, so do your research and book well in advance. With whatever amount of time and money you have available, there is a unique experience awaiting you in California wine country!

California Artists

California Artists

California artists are some of the most talented artists in the world. Art in California is really thriving right now, and it is no wonder why. The fact is that California artists have always been among the best in the country. California, in particular, the bay area, has always been at the forefront of art and culture, and so it is to this very day. If you are a fan of the arts, no matter what the art, you will be able to find it in the state of California. The problem with finding California Artists is that there is just so much to look through. There are probably tens or even hundreds of thousands of California artists, and they are scattered all over one of the largest states in the whole entire country. Although it might be nice to get into a local art scene, to really be able to dive into the work of California art is a much more difficult thing for anyone to be able to do. The fact is that California artists range all the way up and down, and their work runs the gambit from sculpture to collage, from painting to graffiti.

One of the good things about California artists is that a lot of them are really up on high tech art sales. You can get access to a whole range of California artists through the Internet, which can really make it easier to find just the kinds of art works that you are looking for. That way, you will be able to really enjoy the best of California artists without having to spend hours and hours driving from one art show to another in a futile attempt to experience all there is that the arts in CA have to offer. It is a good deal all around.

Of course, I personally think that it is a mistake to buy from California artists, or from any artists for that matter, over the Internet. The fact is that it is easy to show things in such a way that they will look good over the computer, but this is no guarantee that they will look that good in person. On the contrary, you may be quite disappointed when you get what you ordered, even if it is from California artists with very good reputations. There is just no substitute for seeing a work of art in person, even if it means traveling across the state or across the country to do so.

California Culinary Academy

California Culinary Academy

California Culinary Academy is a goal for a number of students.  I worked with a young man who had the appreciation for food and the appetite, as well as the motivation to go for a chef’s career.  I remembered that years earlier I had a roommate who was a graduate of the California Culinary Academy, a man named Peter who would bring home the most divine of custard and fresh berry tarts, frittatas, and other delights.  So I told my student about the school.
I then got curious myself, concerned as I was that my economically challenged teens wouldn’t be able to afford the tuition at California Culinary Academy.  I checked their website, which is not what you might expect but is http://www.baychef.com/.

First, I discovered that like any accredited academic or technical institution, the California Culinary Academy makes financial aid application accessible.  You can even apply for it online.

Then, while I was there, and most pleased with the usability of the site (very clean, very organized), I checked out the features of the renowned cooking school.  The trainers, teachers, or coaches are professional and established chefs, restaurant and bistro managers, and culinary professionals.  The schools facilities and equipment are up to date, allowing for learning of cutting edge (no pun intended) techniques.  The technology is also current, allowing for a certain amount of virtual training, practice, and testing.  And the majority of the courses/classes are conducted not in a lecture setting but using a hands-on approach—for as most of us will attest, we learn best by doing…and doing ourselves….
There are campuses in the north end of SF, which they call San Francisco’s Culinary Hot Spot; in California Hall on Polk Street, which is considered the “nerve center” of the academy; and at the south end of San Francisco, on Rhode Island, where the new modern kitchen and mixology lab (as well as a gaming room where student chefs can practice bar and casino operations) are centerpieces to instruction.
With the help of financial aid, my community college student can transfer to California Culinary Academy, can choose a specialty, and can earn certification or degrees in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry Arts and/or Hospitality & Restaurant Management.

Check out the academy’s website, read the press releases that extol the virtues of the well-known institution, call, drop in for a visit, or email for a tour, for details and course descriptions, and for a first step in working the trail toward exquisite chefdom!

Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton close in California - Baltimore Sun(California News)

Filed under: California News — admin @ 11:05 pm

The last Clinton Administration, when faced with the fact that protection rackets where assaulting, torturing and murdering people with poison and radiation, chose to avoid its responsibilities to incarcerate the criminals and to protect the citizenry. If you are one of the few who do not know what the above refers to, do a web search for “gang stalking” to see the tip of the dirtberg. The pastor who converted him to Christianity from Islam 20 years ago, supposedly, is a close friend and supporter of Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam and outspoken Jew hater, and those two went to Libya to honor Khadafy, the terrorist. Thank goodness for Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, RFK’s JR, and the rest of the sane Kennedy family for backing experienced Hillary; as we will need her in the fall champagne and to get us out of IRAQ and economy going.
